It’s been another good day for Dean and Glenn at Targa Tasmania, as they moved up the leader board and closer to their nearest rivals. The Targa crews contested a loop of stages starting from Launceston, heading towards St Helens in the north-east corner of the island, and then back to Launceston and the traditional stage around the streets of Longford.
The #993 Subaru WRX STi started the day 14 seconds behind the overnight leader Jim Richards. After a cautious start to the day, they began to move forward with stage times well into the top 5 during the afternoon. And with problems striking the Tony Longhurst Impreza, Dean and Glenn moved into 5th outright by the end of the day.
Tomorrows stages will take the field to the north-west of Launceston, heading through Deloraine, Sheffield and Devenport.
