Maximum Motorsport built a Version 5 Subaru Impreza for the 2000 season, and the team took out the Australian Rally Championship Privateers Cup against substantial opposition. So much so that in 2001 Dean scored a drive for the much respected Les Walkden team in a Subaru-backed Impreza and once again took out the Privateer Championship.
